CVR Southport Links Golf Course
The CVR Links course is a true ‘links’ championship course, designed to be a spectacular golf destination, attracting golfers not just from within India, but across Asia and internationally. The golf course high-specification academy was completed in 2015, and construction of the 18 hole championship length 7,200 yard course is underway.
The project is part of the new Krishnapatnam Port, holders of the Golden Eagles Golf Championship, held at another of David Hemstock’s designs at the Hyderabad Golf Association course at the Golconda Fort.
CVR Links is truly unique in India, a genuine sand-based links golf course that draws inspiration from the legendary home of golf itself – St. Andrews, where David Hemstock designed a concept layout for the new 7th course for the St Andrews Links Trust, reaching the final three selection.

The course is located on prime links land, providing both the necessary terrain and weather conditions essential for an authentic playing experience. At CVR Links, a world-class golf development is to be integrated with a marina and yacht club, as well as a fully equipped clubhouse and 5-star hotel.
This is the first course in India to bring together all the essential elements and characteristics of Links-style golf. The course is built of pure sand, meeting USGA specification, and stretches alongside the palm-tree beach on the Bay of Bengal, at times subjected to the windy and wet weather reminiscent of the ‘Home of Golf’, though much, much warmer!

The completed first-phase academy course is an enjoyable, short but challenging set of holes, with a signature test-piece; a drive across the sea to an island green. The academy also has a pitch-and-putt 9-hole family course and driving range adjacent to a heliport.
