Sports Pavilion Renovation

Sensitive renovation of an existing sports pavilion, as part of a wider turn-key design project for comprehensive upgrading work to an existing sports facility in North London. Owing to the locale of the site and the conservation status of the area, this project requires sensitivity and a strong comprehension of a wide range of design factors, constraints and imperatives.

A simple set of proposals have been developed to renovate the pavilion without changing the basic structure, to bring the somewhat squat and unsightly block into the modern setting, whilst rearranging its changing and toilet facilities to provide a fully accessible toilet and shower changing room.

The proposed renovation of the building includes a timber cladding of the facade and re-roofing, retaining the current flat roof whilst extending it to form a canopy area for supervisors to take shelter.
